The UK is deeping its ties with Tokyo in response to global shifts

Britain and Japan may be separated by a distance of some 6,000 miles, but these two island nations are developing a strategic partnership that could prove to be just as important as their lucrative trade ties in post-Brexit Britain.

The main focus of Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt’s visit to Tokyo this week was ostensibly to reassure his Japanese hosts that their significant investment in Britain will not be threatened in any way by our future trading arrangements with the European Union.
