WAYNE — Some of the brightest minds in the digital world gathered at William Paterson University on Friday to discuss the next frontier in cyberspace, big data, and how to prevent computer hackers from stealing everything in sight.
“We’re past the industrial revolution,” said David Rossi, a cybersecurity architect for IBM, standing before an old black and white photo of Henry Ford’s Model A assembly line. “We’re in the data revolution.”
Like previous revolutions, this one is about conquest and change, and who’s going to be in charge. And in a world driven by data, our security depends upon protecting that information flow from the cyber thieves who seek to steal it.
