US plans cyberwar as Kim Jong‑un celebrates missile tests

The US plans to step up cyberattacks on North Korea and is considering deploying nuclear weapons to South Korea.

Even as President Trump planned to push for more sanctions at the UN security council today, he discussed with his cabinet at the weekend options to confront Kim Jong-un. They include cyberwarfare and possibly stationing nuclear weapons in South Korea for the first time in 26 years, White House officials told NBC News.

Keeping the nuclear option open could be a useful tactic as the US pressures China, North Korea’s closest ally, to rein-in Pyongyang.
