Cybersecurity pays in more ways than one

There’s growing demand for cybersecurity professionals — and it’s showing in the salaries companies are willing to shell out for these highly sought-after specialists.

Cyber salaries are expected to increase by 7 percent, compared with a 2 percent increase for other IT roles, according to the Robert Walters 2018 Salary Survey.

Cybersecurity professionals are needed in any industry that has information to protect — so pretty much everywhere. In health care, cyber professionals protect health data. In banking, they secure customer financial information and assets. In manufacturing, they safeguard intellectual property and operations continuity. In government, they’re defending America. In professional services, they help clients protect systems and data. In hospitality, they protect credit card data. Even in politics, as seen in the 2016 elections, you need cyber professionals to protect voter information.
